Funeral Services for Maxine Irene Cothren of Franklin County are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with a graveside service following at the church cemetery. Bro. Marvin Howard and Bro. Paige Cothren will officiate. Pallbearers are Landry Barrilleaux, Luke Barrilleaux, Jay Ezell, Randy Cothren, Roger Cothren and Donald Orr. Honorary Pallbearers are the deacons of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and continues on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Cothren, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at her residence in the Sixtown community in Franklin County. She was born on May 13, 1923, in Wakefield, Kansas to Fred and May Jones Buri.
She worked for many years as a supervisor at Movie Star Factory in Bude. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Smithdale. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that loved her family and church family deeply.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, A.J. Cothren; brothers, Freddie Buri and Donald Buri; and son-in-law, Darel Wallace.
Survivors are her daughters, Marilyn Cothren Ezell and husband M.L. of Meadville, and Carolyn Cothren Wallace of Meadville; grandchildren, Monica Ezell, Jay Ezell and wife Chonda, Regina Wallace Dantin and husband Steve, and Darel Wallace Jr; great-grandchildren, Kayla Wallace Martin and husband Johnathon; Landry, Luke and Cameron Barrilleaux; Aubren Ezell; Justin Miller; Sabrina, Trace and Destiny Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
