Funeral Services for Patricia Sue Smith Henning of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Brookhaven with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was Feb. 5, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Henning, 75, died Feb. 4, 2015 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on July 14, 1939 to Earl and Maude Smith.
Mrs. Henning was a retired educator for over 35 years, with the majority of that at Lipsey Middle School. She was a major supporter of Brookhaven public schools and served at Booster Club president. Mrs. Henning also was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota Teacher Sorority. She was a member of First Baptist Church and loved serving in the choir, as a Sunday school teacher and many other opportunities that arose. Mrs. Henning truly loved and had a passion for the Operation Christmas Child program, the shoe box ministry.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Maude Smith.
Survivors are her husband of over 55 years, Les Henning; daughter, Kathy Crane and husband, Calvin; sons, Paul Henning and wife, Deedee, and Jeff Henning and wife, Nikki; sister, Sylvia Phillips; nine grandchildren, Taylor Berry and husband, Nathan, Leslie White and husband, Chris, Jordan Sticker and husband, Ben, Jessie Henning, Shelbie Crane, Judson Henning, Mardie Henning, Jaynie Henning and Micah Henning along with one great-grandchild, Flynn Berry; one sister-in-law, Wilma Swinney; other special family members, Lori, Richard, Ashli Phillips and Christy Ketchum
Memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
