Funeral Services for Michael Shay Thomas of Brookhaven will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, at Big Springs Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery. Riverwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday Feb. 9, 2015, from 11 a.m. until services begin.

Mr. Thomas, 43, died Feb. 6, 2015, at his residence. He was born on January 1 in 1972 to Charles Edward Thomas and Joyce Lyvonne Cantrell Thomas.

He was the owner of a construction company and a member of Big Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil & Margie Cantrell and Monroe & Marie Thomas; aunt Shan McCullough; uncles, Danny Thomas, Sr., Roy Thomas, Fred Howard, Wayne Sykes, and Ferral Watts.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Joyce Thomas; his son Joseph Gavin Cannon; his daughters Sheylee Grace Thomas, Alyssa Michelle Thomas, Emily Paige Thomas; his brother, Derric Wayne Thomas; his sister, Charlie Mechell Thomas Smith and brothr-in-law Brad; his aunts Sandy Cook, Carolyn Laird, Janice Sanders, Nancy Lamert; his uncles Kenny Cantrell, Harold Thomas, Willie Thomas, Jr; 4 nieces, 4 nephews, and many cousins and extended family members.
