Spider-Man goes AWOL-crawling to Marvel

Clairvoyance: 1 (noun) the supposed faculty of perceiving things or events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact. 2 (me) HA! I CALLED IT!!
I would play the lottery were it not for my moral convictions (curse you traditional Christian upbringing), because I nailed this one. Ok so it was low hanging fruit because anyone could have seen it coming, but I still called it.
On Monday, Marvel announced that they would be collaborating with Sony Pictures to let Spider-Man cameo, or even feature, in an upcoming Marvel movie. My guess is that they are going to use him in “Captain America 3: Civil War” because of his importance in that story line in the comics.
After his new role in whatever movie Marvel puts him in, Sony would then release a Spider-Man movie on July 28, 2017. Sony maintains the license to distribute, and has full creative control over the film.
It’s good news … for most. Sony keeps all the money, but with great budget comes great responsibility. Marvel will be keeping a close eye on their Golden Boy from now on. PLUS we might actually get the awesome Spider-Man movie we’ve been waiting for.
Unfortunately for Andrew Garfield, Peter Parker will be getting a facelift by the way of a new actor. A couple of names being tossed around for the job are Donald Glover (best known for his rapping career) and, my personal favorite, Dylan O’Brien (Stiles from MTV’s “Teen Wolf.”)
I see nothing wrong with Donald Glover being Spider-Man if the movie’s direction leans toward the Ultimate Universe Spider-Man who is a black-latino boy named Miles Morales, but if we’re sticking with Peter Parker, then O’Brien is the best suited.
Not because of his skin color, but because his animated style of comedy and the geek genius he portrays as “Stiles” can easily be adapted for the roll of Parker.
Let’s just hope they don’t tell his origin … again.
Class dismissed.
