WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln sophomore outfielder Adrian Brown has been named the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Division II Baseball Player of the Week.

Brown went 2-for-3 in a season opening 9-4 win over Bishop State. The center fielder hit two doubles and knocked in two RBIs while also drawing a walk. It was in game two of the doubleheader that Brown really showed out. Up to bat in the second inning with the bases loaded, Brown smashed a grand slam homerun to left-center field. He finished game two with six RBIs in a 10-3 Co-Lin victory and also stole two bases in the doubleheader

Brown, a graduate of McComb High School, was selected state player of the week previous to garnering the national award. This is the second time for Brown to be named NJCAA Player of the Week in his career. Last season, as a freshman, he was recognized after going 12-17 in a week against Northwest and Jones County.
