Meow! Meow! Meow! The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League is making plans for “The Cat’s Meow” Rummage Sale. The fourth annual fund-raising event is set for March 7 from 7 a.m. to noon in the former Puckett Machinery building (now Serv Pro) located at 1406 Hwy 51 North in Brookhaven.

“This sale is more than an ordinary rummage sale. It’s huge, and we will have a wide variety of items ranging from new, used and vintage. Our prices are great too,” said Rusty Adcock, BARL volunteer.

The public is encouraged to start dropping off their donated items at BARL’s Adoption Center, so volunteers can begin the sorting and pricing process. The Adoption Center is located at 501 Northpark Dr., off Industrial Park Road behind Keystone Ballpark. The Adoption Center is open Tuesday-Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other drop-off locations include the Cracker Barrel Convenience Stores (not the restaurant) in Brookhaven.

Anyone needing furniture or items picked up can leave a message on BARL’s phone at 601-757-4367 or email info@barl.net and a volunteer will arrange a pick-up time.

“Now is the time to clean out your house and donate those items for the rummage sale. ‘The Cat’s Meow’ is a key fund-raiser for BARL and the money generated goes directly to the care of the animals,” Adcock said.

BARL’s mission is to humanely care for shelter animals while contributing to community activities that reduce pet overpopulation, encourage responsible pet ownership, protect public health and safety and promote the human-animal bond.

BARL is a nonprofit, volunteer based, limited-admission animal welfare organization serving Copiah, Franklin and Lincoln counties. BARL provides food, shelter and veterinary services for homeless animals until they are adopted.

All BARL animals are vet checked, vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Dogs are also micro-chipped.

Anyone interested in adopting, contributing, or volunteering should contact BARL at 601-757-4367 or info@barl.net. Donations are tax deductible and may be mailed to BARL, P.O. Box 3477, Brookhaven, MS 39603.
