Panthers defeat McComb

The Brookhaven Panthers captured their first win of the season last Saturday night with a 7-1 win over the McComb Tigers at Moyer Field.

The Ole Brook Panthers battled the McComb Tigers in a make up varsity Saturday night as Brookhaven came out and quickly took charge by securing a 5-0 lead in five innings of action.
The Tigers managed to break up Ole Brook’s shut out in the top of the sixth inning as they pushed one run across the plate.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Panthers would add two more runs to increase their lead to 7-1 and held McComb scoreless in the seventh inning to earn the win.
Tate Walley was the winning pitcher for the Panthers with nine strikeouts and two walks.
Ja’Terrious Wilson suffered the loss on the mound for McComb with four strikeouts and four walks.
Judson Henning was Ole Brook’s top hitter at the plate with two singles. Penn Wilson and Garrett Smith hit a single each.
Crishawn Speights directed the Tigers’ offense with a double. Wilson hit a single.
