BC survives offensive marathon

DEXTER – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats survived an offensive marathon in Saturday baseball action against Salem to win 16-14.

The Bobcats (7-3) begins Region 7-1A action Tuesday as they travel to Vicksburg to take on the St. Flashes. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.

The Bobcats and the Wildcats battled back and forth throughout the game. BC scored five runs in the second inning, four runs in the fifth inning, three runs in the sixth inning and four more runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Salem scored two runs in the first inning, four runs in the fourth inning and eight run in the seventh inning.

With a combined pitching effort from Brooks Ingle (4K, 3BB), Cameron Price (3K, 1BB) and Steven Ginn (0K, 0BB), BC collects the win.

Rudy Brumfield powered the Bobcats at the plate with two home runs, a triple and a single. Brandon McKenzie fueled the flames with three doubles. Joey Elliott provided a double and two singles. Cameron Price ripped a double and a single. Brooks Ingles had two singles. Steven Ginn hit three singles. Bo Smithers had four singles. Tucket Smith added two singles, and Grant Leake hit safely.
