Ole Brook place first in Invitational

The Brookhaven Panthers and Lady Panthers hosted and won the overall team rankings in a 16 event Saturday at the Brookhaven Invitational Track and Field.

Nine different schools participate in the invitational: Raymond, Franklin County, North Pike, Amite County, Florence, Natchez Cathedral, Piney Woods, Newton County and West Lincoln.

The Lady Panthers A-team posted a 120 in the standings and the Ole Brook’s boys A-Team finished with a 130 score.

In the girls’ individual events, Arnancy Arnold finished in first place in the 400 and 800 meters run

In the girls team event, the Lady Panthers finished first in the 4×100-meter relay

In boys individual events, Ole Brook’s Randy Wilson placed first in the long jump event. Darius O’Quinn came in first in the discus throw and first in the shot put.

Ben Robinson took first place in the 100-meter dash.

In boys team event, Brookhaven finished first in the 4×100-meter relay and 4×200-meter relay.

West Lincoln’s  junior Jason Watts represented the Bears in Saturday Brookhaven Invitational. He ran in the boys’ 3200-meter race and finished first. This was his second appearance to participated in a track and field event during the spring. West Lincoln is known to have a cross-country team that runs in the fall in the area. Joining, Watts in this year event was Todd Calcote, who placed 14th in the 3200 meters run and Carlie Smith, whom ran in the 3200 women run.
