Funeral Services for Harold Smith of Brookhaven are 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with graveside services at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bro. Garland Boyd will be officiating the services.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 24, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, 86, died March 21, 2015, at St. Dominic’s Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was born on Nov. 19, 1928 in Lincoln County to Charlie Steve and Ollie Mae Watts Smith.

He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a retired garment cutter from Stahl Urban and Auburn Sports Wear Garment Factory. He was a long-time member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He taught Sunday school for over 50 years and was an active member of the choir. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Earnest Smith, Willie Smith, Jesse Smith and John Smith; sisters, Lou Mae Smith Williamson, Wisie Lee Smith and Ruby Smith Carlisle.

Survivors are his wife (the love of his life) of 55 years, Frances Foster Smith; daughters, Beatrice Smith Teasley of Brookhaven and Martha Elizabeth Smith Gatlin of Lafayette, Louisiana; sons, Harold Steve Smith and wife, Wendy, of Brookhaven, and David Lee Smith and wife, Donna, of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Joe Farr, Matt Farr, Tim Farr, Bethany Alexander, Stephanie Smith Davis, Steven Smith, James Mullen, Jessica Smith, Elena Smith, Austin Gatlin, Destiny Gatlin, Cory Gatlin, Jonathan Gatlin and Joshua Gatlin; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
