Lady Panthers blast Natchez

NATCHEZ – The undefeated Brookhaven Lady Panthers captured another big Region 6-5A win Tuesday night as they stomped the Natchez Lady Bulldogs 18-0 in fastpitch softball action.

The Lady Panthers (10-0, 2-0) will continue action Thursday as they travel to Terry to battle the Terry Lady Bulldogs. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Panthers came out and dominated the Lady Bulldogs in a three-inning contest. Brookhaven scored three runs in the first inning, 10 runs in the second inning and five more runs in the top of the third inning to secured the win.

Rileigh Allen was the winning pitcher for the Lady Panthers with two strikeouts and one walk. This was Allen’s second no-hitter in five days.

Orianna Howell took the loss for Natchez with two strikeouts and 10 walks.

Katie Grace Culpepper powered Ole Brook’s offensive attack with two singles. Haley Speaks provided a triple. Tia Bussey, Julianna Porter and Fallon Brooks hit safely.

In junior varsity action, the Lady Panther feasted on the Lady Bulldogs to gain a 16-0 win.

Madison Thompson tossed the win for the Lady Panthers collecting six strikeouts and gave up four walks.

Cheyenne Motley paced the Brookhaven’s offense with a triple and a single. Madison Thompson contributed three singles. Meg Foster ripped two singles. Kat Wallace had a double. Hitting safely were Marli Peden and Jadeyn Fuller.
