One man was killed in an early Thursday morning shooting and a suspect has been charged with murder, according to Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing.

Rushing said the call came in at 1:50 a.m. that a subject had been shot on Spur Lane. When the sheriff’s department and ambulance arrived on the scene, Timothy Green, 31, was found deceased. KDMC declared his time of death as 2:25 a.m., according to deputy coroner John Riggs.

Riggs said the state crime lab plans to perform an autopsy Friday morning.

Rushing said Fred Hill III, 24, of 1515 Spur Lane, is currently in jail charged with murder.

Rushing said it looks like the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the suspect and the victim. The sheriff’s department is currently working to collect statements to determine details.
