Lady Cats crush Wesson Lady Cobras

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats crushed the Wesson Lady Cobras 11-2 in fastpitch softball action Thursday night.
The Lady Cats (8-6, 3-0) will resume action Monday as they prepare to host the Lawrence Lady Cougars. Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.
The Lady Cobras, coach Michelle Nunnery, will be in action Tuesday as they host the Puckett Lady Wolves. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6:15 p.m.
Bogue Chitto 11, Wesson 2
The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats and the Wesson Lady Cobras conducted an hitting clinic Thursday night in softball action as BC prevail in the hitting contest 13-10.
Bogue Chitto managed to score runs in first through the sixth innings and relied on their tough defense to hold the Lady Cobras to just two runs.
The Lady Cats scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the second inning, one run each in the third and fourth innings, two runs in fifth and three runs in the sixth innings.
The Lady Cobras pushed across one run in the top of the third and scored the last run in the top of the sixth inning.
Alana Nettles was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats with nine strikeouts and no walks.
Zariah Matthews and Christian Black provided the offensive charge to lead the Lady Cats at the plate with three singles each. Terrah Nelson contributed two doubles. Daley Roberts ripped a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Mallory Allen, Karly Leake, Alana Nettles, Colby Kirkland and Baileigh Jackson.
