BA Lady Cougars secure sweep in ASC Tournament

LIBERTY – The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars managed to get an early look on their upcoming season in the fall as they participated in the Amite School Center softball tournament last Saturday.
The Lady Cougars were victorious in all three games as they defeated the host ASC Lady Rebels 4-2 in the first game, Central Private 11-0 in the second game and Ben’s Ford Academy 11-1 in the finale.
The Lady Cougars are coach by Becky Flowers.
BA 4, ASC 2
Allie Summers was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cougars. She gave up only three Hits, while collecting two strikeouts and allowed one walk.
Kailyn Jordan powered BA’s offense at the plate with two singles. Anna Grace Covington and Allie Summers ripped a double each. Allison Livingston, Alex Rae Smith, Bailey Stewart hit safely.
BA 11, Central Private 0
In Game Two, Summers pitched a perfect game in the over the Central Private Lady Rebels. She game up no hits and did not allow any walks, while tossing seven strikeouts.
Allison Livingston paced the Lady Cougars’ offense with a triple and a single. Bailey Stewart provided a double, Hitting safely were Anna Grace Covington, Alex Rae Smith and Olivia Lewis.
BA 11, Ben’s Ford 1
In the third contest, Allie Summers collected her third victory of the day against Ben’s Ford. Summer finished with six strikeouts, three walks and gave up only one.
Anna Grace Covington lead the Lady Cougars at the plate with two triples. Kailyn Jordan and Allison Livingston contributed two singles apiece. Alex Rae Smith hit a double. Hitting safely were Allie Summers, Bailey Stewart, Abeni Fuller and Madelyn.
