A celebration of life service for Ruby Lee Roberson will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2015, at Damascus M.B. Church. Dr. Robert Daniels will officiate. Burial will be in Carver Heights Cemetery in Brookhaven. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangement.

Mrs. Roberson, 90, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at her son’s home in Brookhaven.

She was the oldest daughter of John Roberson Sr. and Mary Laura Short Roberson. She was a member of Damascus MB Church where she was a choir member, on the mother’s board and the mission. She was the oldest member of the church. She loved going to church and being with her family. She was the last surviving child of eight children.

Preceding her in death were four sisters, Mittie Black, Berteal Sailes, Louise Dickey and Lue Emma Roberson; and three brothers, John Roberson Jr., Lucky Hugh Roberson and Irvin Roberson.

She is survived by one son, Amos Eugene Roberson of Brookhaven; four grandchildren, Shunta Harris and Tawanda Roberson both of Brookhaven, Eugene Roberson of Atlanta, Georgia and Jerome Roberson of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Maude Roberson of Brookhaven and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and family will be present from 5 to 6 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home in Brookhaven.
