Marlon and Ruth Gullette, of Pearl, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Marynell Jordan Gullette, of Pearl, to Russell Jeffrey Thames, of Monticello.

He is the son of Jeff and Carolyn Thames, of Monticello

She is the granddaughter of Nell Scoggin and the late Tommy Scoggin, of Pearl, the late Jerry Gullette and the late Mary Wixon Gullette, of Pearl.

He is the grandson of Joseph Hollidean Russell, Janice Branch Russell, of Monticello, the late Recie Ford Thames and the late Thelma Nelson Thames, of Monticello.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Pearl High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a bachelor’s degree in nursing science. She is currently employed with Blair E. Batson in the pediatric intensive care unit.

The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Brookhaven Academy and a 2012 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering. He is currently employed with the Mississippi Department of Transportation in the bridge division.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015, at The Historic Fairview Inn in Jackson. A reception will follow.
