Lady Cats rally past West Lincoln

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats defeated the West Lincoln Lady Bears 7-4 on senior night at Bogue Chitto Monday night in softball action.

The Lady Cats recognized two seniors: Daley Roberts and Colby Kirkland, before the first pitch of the varsity contest as friends and families gathered to show their support. Roberts and Kirkland received several gifts from their teammates and friends.

Bogue Chitto (11-8, 5-1) will be in action today as they travel to Monticello to take on the Lawrence County Lady Cougars. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Bears (12-8, 6-2) will also be in action today as they host the Natchez Cathedral Lady Green Wave. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

Bogue Chitto 7, West Lincoln 4 

The Lady Cats and the Lady Bears battles in a close contest in the first two innings of action as both teams fought to a 3-all tie.

In the top of the sixth inning, West Lincoln managed to take a one run lead over BC, but the Lady Cats roared back in the bottom of the sixth inning and scored four runs to secure a 7-4 victory.

Christian Black was the winning pitcher for BC with five strikeouts and three walks.

Malori Hall suffered the setback in the relief for the Lady Bears with two strikeouts and no walks. Micah Redd (3K, 4BB) started for West Lincoln.

Karly Leake was the top hitter for the Lady Cats at the plate with two singles. Mallory Allen, Colby Kirkland, Zariah Matthews and Christian Black hit safely.

Addie Spring paced the Lady Bears offense with two singles. Hitting safely were Layton Sills, Micah Redd, MaKennah Redd, Malori Hall, Brianna Fauver and Hanna Moak.
