Wolfpack finish fourth in State Tournament

COLUMBUS – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack finished fourth in the MACJC State Tournament hosted by East Mississippi Community Collage at Lion Hills Country Club in Columbus. They qualify for the NJCAA Region 23
Tournament that will be held on April 26-27 hosted by Jones County Junior College at Laurel Country Club in Laurel. The winner of the Region 23 Tournament will qualify for the NJCAA National Tournament to be held May 19-22 at Goose Pond Colony Country Club in Scottsboro, Alabama.
Mississippi Gulf Coast won the state title firing a two-day total of 570 (281 – 289) followed by host East Mississippi at 580 (287-293) and Meridian at 591 (298-293). The Wolfpack finished one-shot back at 592 (295-297) to finish fourth. Rounding out the team scoring were East Central at 595 (293-302), Hinds 598 (304-294), Northwest Mississippi 604 (310-294), Itawamba 613 (298-315) and Northeast Mississippi (613 (310-303), and Jones County 667 (343-324).
Individually, Jacob Ross of Brookhaven led the way for the Wolfpack tied for fifth at 144 (71-73). Gregory Causey of Petal finished tied for 14th at 148 (75-78), followed by Taylor Jelks of Centreville at 149 (74-75), Will Lee of Brookhaven 151 (77-74) and Ryan Desormeaux of Broussard, Louisiana at 1565(75-80).
Co-Lin’s Ross was named MACJC First Team All-State and sophomore Desormeaux was named MACJC Second Team.
