The Loyd Star Hornets captured the Region 7-2A Golf Tournament championship at the Brookhaven Country Club, led by match medalist Sawyer Norton who shot par 80.

Norton, along with Peyton Bullock 90; Cam Harveston 95 and Powell Smith 105 paced the Hornets in golf action. Loyd Star will compete in the Class 2A State Tournament, May 6-7, which will be held at the Natchez Trace Golf Club in Baldwin.
Loyd Star, coached by Chris King and Lydia King, posted a winning team score of 370, to beat runner-up Bassfield at 402.
Ty Forman of West Lincoln finished second in the Medalist and will advance to the State Individual Tournament.
Boys District Finals:
Loyd Star 370: Sawyer Norton 80, Peyton Bullock 90, Cam Harveston 95 and Powell Smith 105.
Bassfield 402: K. Island 98, K. Holloway 99, P. Thompson 100, P. Hall 105.
West Lincoln: Forman 85, Temple 95, Hughes 97.
Enterprise: R. Duke 87.
