WESSON – The Salem Lady Wildcats traveled from Walthall County to battle the Wesson Lady Cobras to stay ready for the playoffs Thursday night.

The Lady Cobras dominated the night as they clobbered the Lady Wildcats to claim an 11-3 win.

Wesson will travel to McComb Friday night to face the Lady Tigers. Varsity game time is 6:00.

Wesson 11, Salem 3 

Lady Cobras’ pitcher, Carrie McSweyn tossed the win with one strikeout and no walks.

McSweyn was also the top hitter of the night with three singles. Other Lady Cobra’s hitters were Cheyenne Gladden with a double and a single, and Shelbi Maxwell with two singles. Amber Brinson and Harmoni Ashley both hit a double each.

Ashley was also a top defensive player with 12 outs on first base.

Lady Wildcat’s pitcher, D. Thomas, suffered the lost with two strikeouts and three walks.

Top hitters for Salem were B. Bergeron and C. Rawls with a double each. Top fielders were H. Rushing on 1st base and C. Rawls in centerfield with four outs each.
