Funeral services for Carolyn Inez Wallace Deer are Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Butler-Pray Cemetery in Amite County. Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Gerald Wallace, Adam Wallace, Blake Wallace, Vince Wallace, Nicholas Waxley and Dustin Waxley.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 4 until 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 8 a.m. until the time of service at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana.

Mrs. Deer, 69, of Baker, Louisiana and a former resident of Bogue Chitto, died on Monday, June 1, 2015. She was born July 22, 1945.

Mrs. Deer was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. With a caring and loving heart, a compassionate and merciful spirit, she was a blessing to all those who knew her. She was a member of Baker Church of the Nazarene, and former owner and operator of Plank Road Kennel.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Carl Wilson and Edith Inez Freeman Wallace; and a brother, Mitchell L. Wallace.

Survivors are her husband of nearly 50 years, Wayne Deer; daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Christopher Barnette; two beloved grandchildren, Gabriel Nicholas and Isabelle Mercedes Barnette; a sister, Dianne Russell and husband, Danny; a brother, Gerald “Waffle” Wallace and wife, Cindy; a sister-in-law, Lu Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
