Lincoln County School District Superintendent Terry Brister on Monday updated school board members on construction plans for the district’s four schools.
At Loyd Star, Brister said the district will be updating the lights at the baseball field as well as getting the football field project underway. Brister said the district is working to get access to land around the school to more efficiently connect the field to sewage, electricity and water.
At West Lincoln, Brister said gym floors will be replaced. They also are currently halving classrooms to accommodate higher student population.
At Bogue Chitto, Brister is evaluating the dugout situation for the baseball field and the concession stand for the football and baseball fields.
Enterprise does not have any new projects coming up, but the district is wrapping up a new cafeteria and updating the parking lot. Brister said with the cafeteria, they will have to purchase some new equipment, but they are going to reuse as much of the old equipment as possible. He said the working equipment will either be used in the new cafeteria or distributed to other schools in the district as needed.
