Lincoln Co. Americans advance to championship; Nationals play tonight to keep season alive

The Lincoln County Americans were victorious in Monday night action over the Lincoln County Nationals with a 9-5 victory in Dixie Youth Baseball AAA All-Star 10-year-old Sub-District Six Tournament action at Keystone Park in Brookhaven.
The tournament continues Tuesday as the Lincoln County Nationals All-Stars battle the winner of the Franklin County-Natchez contest at 7 p.m. in the loser’s bracket. The Lincoln County Americans will advance to the championship game and wait on the winner of the Tuesday contest. The Championship series will be played on Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.

Will Loy was the winning pitcher for the Americans as the started the second inning and went the distance in relief. Loy finished the contest with four strikeouts and allowed only two walks. Jacob Rushing started the game on the mound for the Americans.
Rushing was the top hitter at the plate for the Americans with a double. Payne Waldrop and Loy hit a single each.
