Lincoln County All-Star teams begin action Friday

Three Lincoln County All-Star teams will be in action Friday as they prepare to travel Laurel and Mendenhall to participate in the Dixie Youth State Tournament.

In Dixie Majors, both the Nationals and Americans 12-year-old All-Stars will represent Lincoln County in the Dixie Youth Majors State Tournament in Mendenhall.

The tournament will also feature teams from Franklin County, Lawrence County, Walthall County, Columbia, Laurel, Canton, Puckett, Mendenhall, and Humphreys County.

The tournament bracket has been set as Franklin County battles Canton at 4 p.m.; Columbia Duckworth takes on Laurel Americans at 4 p.m.; Columbia faces the Lincoln County Nationals at 6 p.m.; The Lincoln County Americans battle Puckett at 6 p.m.; Walthall County tangles with Mendenhall at 8 p.m. and Lawrence County entertains Humphreys County at 8 p.m. on Friday night.

The championship contest is schedule to be played on Monday, July 20. The full bracket can be found on the Dixie Youth Baseball website.

In AAA action, the Lincoln County American 10-year-old All-Stars will be in action Friday as they participate in the Dixie Youth AAA State Tournament in Laurel.

Other teams that will be participating in the tournament are Lawrence County, Hamilton, Cleveland East, St. Martin, Yazoo City, Pascagoula, Magee, Kosciusko, Laurel Nationals, Clarksdale, Laurel Americans and Iuka.

The tournament bracket has been released as games begin on Friday night. The championship contest is schedule to played on Tuesday, July 21. The full bracket can be found on the Dixie Youth Baseball website.

The Lincoln County Americans will play the Laurel Nationals at 8 p.m.
