Brookhaven Academy, under the direction of Blake Purvis, will kick off the season at home on R.M. “Red” Stuard Field against Prentiss Christian.

BA will have five starters back from last season. William King (6-3, 200. sr.) will start as BA’s quarterback. Left tackle Roger Rushing (5-11, 225, sr.) and center Ben McCarroll (5-8, 223, sr.) bring experience to the offensive line. Madison Smith (6-1, 177, jr.) gives the Cougars at threat at wide receiver.

On defense, King is the team’s top returning tackler. He will joined by Carter Culbertson (5-11, 220, sr.) and JT Cline (6-2, 211. sr.).

Last year: Prentiss Christian edge BA 21-20.

My prediction for this year:  The Cougars and the Saints will give their football fans plenty of excitement as BA edges Prentiss Christian 14-13.
