Lady Cats thump Lady Bulldogs

MEADVILLE – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats dominated the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs Monday night to claim a 11-0 win in slowpitch softball action.
“We did a great job tonight,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “We hit some hard balls and played routine, solid defense.”
The Lady Bulldogs, coached by Sally Case, return to action Thursday as they prepare to host the South Pike Lady Eagles. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Cats captured the win over the Lady Bulldogs in a five-inning contest. BC scored two runs in the first inning, five runs in the third inning, three runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth.
Brooke Myer pitched the win for Bogue Chitto with two strikeouts and no walks.
Sydney Scott suffered the setback on the mound for Franklin County with no strikeouts and five walks.
Cherie Savoie and Reagan Kirkland directed the Lady Cats’ offense with a double a single each. Terrah Nelson and Codi Leggett provided two singles each. Zariah Matthews, Christian Black and Baileigh Jackson hit safely.
Timara Mackey paced the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with two singles. Shelby Case, Sydney Scott and Savannah Faith hit a single apiece.
in junior varsity action, the Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Cats 8-7.
The Lady Cats were lead at the plate by Stevie Montgomery, Destiny Wallace, Payton Barron, T’Asia Black, Kayci Beth Wallace and Taneshia May with a single each.
