Funeral services for Annie Jean Franklin Newson will be Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Siloam M. B. Church with burial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrgangements.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, from 1 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Newson, 55, of Brookhaven, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015,  at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born Feb. 12, 1960, in Lincoln County to Luther (Bubba) Franklin Sr. and Annie Pearl Byrd Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Luther and Ora Franklin; maternal grandparents, Marzell and Moadsteen Byrd.

Survivors are her mother, Annie Pearl (Ernest) Franklin of Magee; daughters, Shunte (Willie) Quarles, LaKesha (Jarvis) Newsom and Aleisha Newson, all of Brookhaven; devoted sister, Alice Mae Franklin of Brookhaven; brothers, Robert (Cynthia) Franklin of Flint, Michigan, Luther Jerome Franklin of Brookhaven, Bobby Charles (Mary) Franklin of Brookhaven, Bruce (Vicki) Franklin of Brookhaven and Lucious (Tasha) Franklin of Brookhaven; five grandchildren, LaKera Newson, Arredeus Newson, Demetric Nelson, Donontay Nelson and Madison Newson, all of Brookhaven; and a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
