Graveside services for Billy Ray Chandler will be 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Riverwood.

Mr. Chandler Sr., 74, of Brookhaven, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. He was born Dec. 14, 1940, to Altamond Chandler and Hettie Case Chandler.

He worked in the oil field for 35 years as a tool pusher, and he was also a roofer. Mr. Chandler served in the United States National Guard and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Billy Ray spent 50 years officiating baseball games.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Lee Chandler and Joyce Bachman; his parents; son, Billy Ray Chandler Jr.; brothers, Alta Sammy Chandler and Robert Earl Chandler; sister, Ella Rose Ladner; and grandsons, Walker Chandler and Joshua Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Jean T. Chandler; sons, Michael Dewayne Chandler of Bogue Chitto and Alton Lee Chandler of Denham Springs, Louisiana; daughters, Charlotte Simmons of Denham Springs and Kimberly Edgerton of Spokane, Washington; sister, Glenda Faye Smith; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; six step-children and 15 step-grandchildren.
