Memorial services for William Griffen McDonald will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. McDonald died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at his residence. He was born Jan. 8, 1949, to William C. McDonald and Helen C. Jones McDonald.

He was a pipefitter in the construction industry and served his country in the United States Navy. He also served in the United States Army receiving numerous awards including Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Driver Badge, Oversea Service Bars, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Qualification Badge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, John McDonald.

Survivors are his wife, Janeen McDonald; sons, Daniel L. McDonald and wife, Tracy, Patrick Boyd, Michael Boyd; daughter, Claudette Vandelac; brother Kelly McDonald; nine grandchildren, Logan McDonald, Emmaleigh McDonald, William McDonald, Brooklynn McDonald, Cameron Walker, Jess Bonner, Justin Boyd, Jacob Boyd and Luke Boyd.
