Memorial services for Harvey E. “Speedy” Wilson are Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive). Bro. David Boyd will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation is Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilson, 73, of Brookhaven, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at his home in Brookhaven. He was born April 24, 1942, in Monroe (Franklin County) to Cleatus and Bernie Ezell Wilson.
He was a retired air conditioner/refrigeration repairman. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising his gardens. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Howard Wilson and Kenneth Wayne Wilson; one infant sister; and grandson, Hunter Brooks Rester.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Williams Wilson; son, Daryl Rester and wife, Michelle, of Brandon; daughter, Debra Wilson of Brookhaven; brothers, Rayford Wilson, Robert “Red” Wilson and Mickey Wilson; sister, Claudell Wilson Arnold; grandchildren, Casey Rester and wife, MacKenzie, and Katelynn Smith; great-grandchildren, Ember Rester and Michaella Rester; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of Hospice Ministries and to the staff of the VA Hospital.
