Bogue Chitto (0-6, 0-2),  coached by Gareth Sartin, dropped another tough loss in Region 4-1A action last week, falling to the Salem Wildcats 49-0 in Walthall County.

This week, the Bobcats will celebrate homecoming as they welcome the winless Mount Olive Pirates to Troy Smith Field.

The Pirates (0-6, 0-2), coached by Terrell Luckey, were hammered 42-0 by the Wesson Cobras last week in Mount Olive.

Mount Olive finished with only 39 yards of total offense, with 18 yards rushing on 31 carries and two pass completions for 21 yards.

BC’s top offensive performer last week was Kobe Roberts with 45 yards rushing on six carries. He also caught a pass for 29 yards.

Trey Nettles helped the Bobcats’ rushing game with four carries for 35 yards. Sherman Jackson contributed 34 rushing yards on eight carries and LaFredrick Dillon had four rushes for 34 yards.

Defensively, Roberts led the Bobcats with four tackles. Chris Taylor had three stops and Connor Douglas provided two tackles.

Last year, Mount Olive escaped Troy Smith Field with a narrow 8-0 win over the Bobcats.

My prediction: Bogue Chitto will snap a 15-game losing skid with a 12-8 homecoming win over Mount Olive.
