Funeral services for Myrtis Marie Rushing Richardson Howard are Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial in Bude Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howard, 78, of Bude, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on Sept. 22, 1937, in Louisiana to James Grady Rushing and Nellie Mae Coleman Rushing.

She was a homemaker and was retired as a day care owner/operator. She was a long time member of Bude Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Douglas Richardson; husband, Shirley M. Richardson; five brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Ray Howard of Bude; son, Glen Richardson and wife, Carole, of Smithdale; daughter, Laura (Joann) Howard of Bude; four grandchildren, Tony Glen Richardson, Trent Richardson, Timmy Richardson and Teresa Laird; and a special granddaughter-in-law, Carrie Richardson; eight great-grandchildren, Kala, Layana, Devin, Dylon, Josh, Alana, Darian and Dalton; two great-great-grandchildren, Bentley and Lia; two brothers, Rodney Rushing and Raymond Rushing; and two sisters, Dorothy Hutson and Louise Berne.
