Funeral services for Harold H. O’Neill Sr. are Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Michigan Memorial Cemetery in Flay Rock, Michigan. Bro. Lance Moak will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Mr. O’Neill, 85, of Franklin County, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Charles E. (Sr.) and Inez D. O’Neill.

He was a retired engineer from General Dynamics in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was member of Damascus Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and really enjoyed writing about his life experiences. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary Elledge O’Neill; son, Harold H. O’Neill Jr.; sisters, Florine O’Neill Baham, Carmen Ann O’Neill Latino, Ella Elice O’Neill Bankston Pingno, Geneva O’Neill Bertus Jagneaux and Peggy O’Neill McMorris; and brothers, Lucius D. O’Neill, Owen Edgerton O’Neill, Charles E. O’Neill and Adolph Paul O’Neill.

Survivors include his son, Charles E. O’Neill of Reno, Nevada; daughters, Patricia O’Neill Robertson and husband, Tommy, of Franklin County, and Holly O’Neill Banks of Rochester Hill, Michigan; sister, Inez O’Neill Randall; brothers, Thomas “Tommy” O’Neill and Donald “Donnie” O’Neill; grandchildren, Harley O’Neill, Chaz Ryan O’Neill, Maggie O’Neill, Ashley O’Neill, Zachary O’Neill, Harold O’Neill III, Christina O’Neill Hamilton, Rhett O’Neill, Jackie Robertson Cooper, Theresa Robertson Melera, Francisco Robertson, Carlos Robertson, Alejandra Robertson, David Banks Jr., Michael Banks and Lilly Rose O’Neill; great-grandchildren, Scott Ryan O’Neill and Conor O’Neill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
