Lt. Charles Coleman H-1, MHP Troop H, spoke to a group of seniors about the dangers of fraud at the Jimmy Furlow Senior Center on Tuesday. Coleman talked about the importance of checking the credibility of charities during the holiday season, when many false charities are preying on the kindness of others. Coleman said necessary precautions include checking the credibility of any company one encounters, and also not giving away any personal information — especially medical — over the phone. Medicaid fraud, he warned, can happen to anyone and all need to be aware and protective of their information.
