Wesson kicks off soccer season

The 2015-2016 season of Wesson soccer will be one to watch.
The players have worked hard on improving their skills – both teams have had the leadership of their seniors throughout the summer, and it has carried over into the season.
The Cobras will have a lot of experience and depth this season. Last year, Wesson finished second in region play with a 9-4 record and advanced to the playoffs. This year, the team possesses great potential with the following returning starters – Dylan Ingle, Fidel Mellado, Francisco Hernandez, Justin Morgan, Kelvin Casanova, Marcus Jones, Preston Middleton and Travis Smith.
Ingle, Mellado, Morgan, Middleton and Jones are All District position holders.

The Lady Cobras are also full of potential and promise. The Lady Cobras return the following starters – Amber Brinson, Arie Douglas, Brooke Jones, Cheyenne Gladden, Emily Gregg, Harmoni Ashley, Kim San, Misty Tanksley and Joslynn Arzate.
San, Jones, Brinson and Gladden are returning All-District position holders. The girls are looking to improve on a 7-5 record last season.
Coaching both the girls’ and boys’ teams this season is John “Bobo” Douglas, a 2000 graduate of Wesson High School.
