Funeral services for Mattie Pearl Givens Hayes are 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Bethel Temple Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood.

Mrs. Hayes, 92, of Brookhaven, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born on Dec. 17, 1922, to Wash Givens and Maddie Martin Givens.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Rufus Hayes; daughter, Nita Russell; brothers, Duddy Givens, Walter Givens and Cliff Givens; sisters, Daisy Mathews, Marie Thomas and Maude Sykes; and a grandson.

Survivors are her sons, Edward Hayes and wife, Becky, of Brookhaven and Joe Hayes and wife, Delilah, of Brookhaven; daughters, Nell Baham of Amite, Louisiana and Barbara Munn of Brookhaven; brothers, Morris Givens of Brookhaven and Louis Givens and wife, Voncille, of Jayess; 14 grandchildren, Marty Baham, Mark Baham, Randy Hayes, Chris Hayes, Chad Hayes, Chane Hayes, Belinda Cooley, Donna Britt, David Edwards, Kimberly McCoy, Karen Gilham, Douglas McCarty, Lana Swarts and Rhonda Lambert; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
