Jackson State with big 1st half, beats NAIA rival Fisk

JACKSON (AP) – Paris Collins had 20 points with 10 rebounds and Jackson State rolled to a 94-59 victory over NAIA opponent Fisk on Wednesday night.
Jackson State (3-5) bounced back after losing at Marquette 81-60 on Nov. 29. The Tigers played six road games in November, and play at Louisiana Tech on Friday night.
Javeres Brent made six 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead Jackson State. Chace Franklin had 12 points and Kaven Bernard added 10. Raeford Worsham, who had his second double-double of the season in the loss to Marquette, had 10 points with nine rebounds.
Jackson State jumped out to a 54-11 halftime lead, but Fisk outscored the Tigers 48-40 in the second half.
LaBarron Collins scored 17 points with seven rebounds for Fisk. Jason Perry added eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
It was the first meeting between the schools.
