Funeral services for Robert L. Walker will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Colby Wilkinson, Blake Johnston, Cody Guitreau, Brandon Golson, Wesley Golson, Chan Newell, Chris Newell and Travis Alford. Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana from 5 until 9 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven from 2 p.m. until the time of services.

Mr. Walker died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, after a long courageous battle with Mesothelioma. He was born on March 19, 1948, in Brookhaven.

Robert moved to Louisiana to pursue work in the petrochemical industry. Robert became a safety professional, a job that took him around the world.  He finished his career at Dow Chemical in St. Charles, Louisiana in a job that anyone who knew him knows he loved.

Robert was a member of The Church in St. Amant where he loved to worship and praise his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was a beloved father and grandfather that will be missed immensely.

He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Walker, from Brookhaven; mother, Martha Fauver from Brookhaven; and his sister, Ernistine Walker from Brookhaven.

He is survived by his sons, Marty Walker and wife, Stephanie, and Jonathon Walker; three beloved granddaughters, Ashley Walker Guitreau and husband, Cody, Allison Walker and fiancé, Colby Wilkinson, and Amanda Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in Mr. Walker’s name to the American Cancer Society.
