Nickles named to CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division Football Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Co-Lin’s Greg Nickles continues to receive academic accolades. Nickles has been named to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America College Division Football Team. He was the only Junior College player named to the team. The CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division football team honors student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

Nickles, the sophomore kicker/punter from Pelahatchie (East Rankin Academy), kicked 14-of-19 in field goals with a long of 47 yards. He was 29-of-31 in extra points. Nickles punted 39 times averaging 35.1 yards.

He was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Special Teams Player of the Week Oct. 12-18. He was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Special Teams Player of the Week three times this season. In his freshman season, Nickles was named MACJC Second Team All-State. A biomedical engineering major, he is a President’s List scholar with a 4.0 grade point average. Nickles is a member of Phi Theta Kappa was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team.
