Wesson’s soccer defeats Raymond

The Wesson Cobras and the Lady Cobras swept the Raymond Rangers in high school soccer action Tuesday at the Hansel King Sportsplex.
In the girls contest, the Lady Cobras defeated the Lady Rangers 6-1.
Sophomore Kim San powered the Lady Cobras with three goals and five steals. Amber Brinson punched in two goals and had three steals for the Lady Cobras. Cheyenne Gladden also scored a goal and had seven steals. Nikki Guess finished with seven steals. Arie Douglas had five steals and an assist. Harmoni Ashley finished with six saves as Wesson’s goalie. Seventh grader Elle Silvan also played at goalie and had two saves.
In boys’ action, Wesson beat Raymond 4-1.
Marcus Jones paced the Cobras’ scoring with two goals and had nine steals. Dylan Ingle and Steven Dennis scored a goal each in Wesson’s victory. Ingle was second behind Jones in steals with eight. Both had four assists each. Dennis finished with six steals and three assists. Preston Middleton had five saves as Wesson’s goalie.
