Funeral services for Edith Coleman Cupit are Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville with burial in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Franklin County. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

There will be a private family viewing on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Cupit died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, in Brookhaven. She was born on March 17, 1919, in Lincoln County, to Robert E Lee Coleman and Virgie Lea Coleman.

She was married to Cyrus Henry Cupit of Franklin County and had four step-sons, Lloyd, James, Harold and Claud. She herself had four children, Dorothy, Carl, Bobby and Gerald.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cyrus Henry Cupit; step-sons, Lloyd, Harold and Claud Cupit; grandson, Robert Cupit; three brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her step-son, James (Doris) of Forest; step-daughter-in-law, Susie of Eddiceton; children, Dorothy of Franklin County, Carl (Audrey) of Franklin County, Bobby (Madonna) of Silsbee, Texas and Gerald (Donnis) of Monticello; sister, Betty Allen of Brookhaven; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Tanksley of Atlanta, Georgia and Nell Coleman of Houma, Louisiana; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and their families.

The family wishes to take this opportunity to offer heart-felt thanks to all the many friends and neighborhoods who provided assistance, and sometimes sacrificial help, to our mom and Dorothy over the years. We also want to thank the staff at Silver Cross Nursing Home for all their care during the last year and a half.
