The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 8:19 p.m. from a subject who said he had been shot in the leg. The victim, Alton Harveston, 45, had been working on a vehicle at the residence of Donald Earl Dickerson, 41, at 2423 East New Sight Drive. Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said Harveston said the two got into an altercation — partly over a flashlight — which led to Dickerson shooting Harveston in the leg.

Dickerson left and then returned to the scene while deputies were there, and he was taken into custody. Dickerson was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a felon and is currently in Lincoln County Jail with no bond set.
