Southern Miss beats Southeastern Oklahoma State

HATTIESBURG (AP) – Kourtlin Jackson matched career highs with 25 points and eight rebounds and Southern Mississippi snapped a two-game losing streak with a 66-52 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday night.
Jackson was 8 of 9 from the field and made all four of his 3-point attempts. Raheem Watts added 10 points. The Golden Eagles made 7 of their 16 3-point attempts and outscored the Savage Storm 28-10 in the paint.
Jackson made two 3-pointers in a 12-3 run to end the first half for a 36-21 advantage. The lead dipped to nine points once in the second half but a 3-pointer by Michael O’Donnell and another by Jackson left the Golden Eagles up 18 with 4:49 to go.
Sami Bzai scored 12 points and Anton Cook 11 in a game that was an exhibition for Division II visitors.
Southern Miss (3-8) opens Conference USA play on Saturday at Louisiana Tech.
