Funeral services for Carolyn Prestridge Lofton are Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Jones Family Funeral Services Chapel with burial in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Kris, Josh and Tyler, Randy Wallace, Curtis Dunaway and Terry Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be Barney Albritton, Marshall Loftin, Larry Sasser, Steve and Ted Lofton and Jerry Joe Brent. Rev. Rick Kennedy and Rev. Bob Lynch will officiate.

Visitation was Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Jones Funeral Home in McComb from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue there Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Mrs. Lofton, 74, of Bogue Chitto, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson from a sudden illness. She was born Aug. 21, 1941, in McComb to Homer T. and Donna Hendon Prestridge.

She attended Summit High School. She was a homemaker and a secretary for Lofton Lumber Company and Lofton Livestock Sale Barn for many years.  She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Summit where she was a very active member of her Sunday school class.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.  She also loved her Alabama football with a passion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Mack and Audrey Brumfield Lofton; a daughter, Kaye Lofton; and one granddaughter, Kelli Renee Lofton.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Mr. Holton Lofton; daughter, Kim Forman and her husband, Barry, of Magnolia; son, Karey “Butch” Lofton; daughter-in-law, DeeDee Brent Lofton of Bogue Chitto; five treasured grandchildren, Kris Forman of Magnolia; Shane Forman Normand of Gulfport; Josh Lofton of Summit; Tyler and Olivia Lofton of Bogue Chitto; four treasured great-granddaughters, Madison, McKenzie, Dylan and Mia, all of whom were her heart and soul; special friends, Kathy Sasser, Paula Albritton and Pam Dunaway; and a host of special relatives and friends.
