The Adams County Christian School Rebels captured two big division wins Tuesday night over the Brookhaven Academy Cougars at John R. Gray Gymnasium.

In the girls’ contest, the Lady Rebels knocked off the Lady Cougars 49-24.

In boys’ action, ACCS defeated Brookhaven Academy 50-38.

Lady Rebels 49, Lady Cougars 24 

Both teams battled in a low-scoring contest before ACCS took over the game with a 15-9 run in the second quarter to carry a 23-14 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Cougars 26-10 to secure the win.

Sissy Byrd was the top scorer for the Lady Cougars with six points and five rebounds. Kailyn Jordan, Anna-Michael Smith and Cameron Watson chipped in four points apiece. Shelby Flumm and Leah Case scored three points each.

Bailey Boyd powered the Lady Rebels’ offense with 19 points. Anna McDaniel and Breanna Henson contributed seven points each.

ACCS 50, BA 38 

BA carried a slim 22-21 lead into halftime, but in the second half ACCS answered with a 29-16 explosion to capture the win.

Ethan Nations directed the Cougars with 11 points and seven rebounds. Austin Smith netted eight points and had seven rebounds. Luke Jackson and Ross Felder contributed seven points each. Dawson Flowers scored three points. Dylan Winborne had two points.

Devin Spears paced the Rebels with a game-high 21 points. Brody Cole chipped in 14 points. Darius Denby scored six points. Andrew Ratcliff had five points.

In junior high action,  the Lady Rebels beat the Lady Cougars 46-18 as Shelby Mason led ACCS with 26 points.

Cassie White paced the Lady Cougars with 10 points. Ainsley Allen scored six points.

In boys’ action, BA knocked off ACCS 43-35. Cade Brown led the Cougars with 18 points. Dawson Flowers provided 16 points.

Dawson Parker was the top scorer for the Rebels with 13 points.

Brookhaven Academy continues action Friday as the Cougars and the Lady Cougars host Laurel Christian. Action begins at 4 p.m. with junior high, followed by the varsity game.
