Funeral Services for Welton Davis Britt were held Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home- South. Burial will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, with Newton County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Dr. Frank Harmon and Rev. Colby Cuevas will officiate.

Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home – South in Newton.

Mr. Britt, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Rush Hospital in Meridian. He was born Friday, May 25, 1934, in Brookhaven.

Welton was a gentle, kind-hearted and generous man that never met a stranger. He loved his family very much and was deeply dedicated to his wife, Rose Marie Britt of 63 years. Welton was baptized in the Lord Jesus Christ and a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhaven. Mr. Britt retired from Campbell “66” Express after 30 years of dedicated service alongside of his brother, Howard Britt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edna Britt and son Lindsey Britt.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Britt; daughter, Kristina (Bob) Bridges; grandchildren, Nicole (Micah) Harmon and Brittany (Colby) Cuevas; great-grandchildren, Hallie Rose Harmon, and Jon Cole Harmon; and brother Howard (Margaret Ann) Britt.
