The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook Thursday to update the public on ongoing efforts to quell county activity.

One subject is in custody after an arrest was made for a four-wheeler and trailer theft on Jackson Liberty Road. The ATV was recovered.

A stolen vehicle reported on California Road was recovered and an arrest has been made. LCSO arrest reports on Tuesday listed Chad T. Moask, 25, of 1548 California Road, in Brookhaven as being arrested for grand larceny by the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednesday, Virgil H. Martin, 1-30-71, of 642 Hog Chain Road, Bogue Chitto was arrested for grand larceny by the LCSO.

The call of someone being shot on Live Oak Lane on Tuesday, the LCSO reported, was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest with no foul play involved. The man is going to recover, Sheriff Steve Rushing confirmed.

Several names have been passed along to the department in relation to recent East Lincoln Road thefts, but no arrests have been made. The LCSO wrote the department still needs the public’s help to identify and apprehend suspects.

A call reporting a suspicious person/possible attempted burglary on Thursday on Bouie Mill Road is still being investigated. LCSO wrote that no entry was made into the home and one subject has been arrested on other charges while investigation continues.

Throughout the week and weekend, the following theft-related calls were made: Stolen vehicle on California Road NW over the weekend; theft on Sanders Lane NE on Tuesday and burglary on Misty Lane on Thursday.

“Thanks to all the help from the public who provided information in helping solve these cases,” the LCSO Facebook post reads. “Working together has made this possible.”

A previous version of this story incorrectly listed calls as being lost or stolen property. The calls are lost or stolen car tags that must be reported as such to get another one. Therefore the calls listed were not necessarily theft-related unless specifically noted.
