Funeral services for Edward J. Marx Jr., of New Orleans, are Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with burial at the Catholic Cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, from 5 until 9 p.m. with rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Marx was born on Jan. 11, 1945 to Edward Marx and Josephine Battaglia Marx.

Mr. Marx, affectionately known as “Sonny,” spent his early childhood in Brookhaven and later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Edward was a caring and generous person, which was made evident by the many friends he made throughout his life. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Survivors are his wife, Maria B. Marx; sister, Annette Picconi; her husband, Lawrence Picconi; dog, “Lady Katie;” niece, Jennifer Morrison and great-niece Anna Allen.
