Wilson’s 22 leads Alcorn State past Ark Pine Bluff

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) – Tamarcio Wilson scored 22 points and Alcorn State never trailed in a 73-65 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday night.
The Braves led by as many as 11 points in the first half after Shawn Willett’s layup with 3:20 left but they did not score again and had a four-point advantage at the break.
UAPB tied it at 46-all with 13 minutes left, but Wilson’s free throws gave Alcorn State a 56-49 lead and the Braves led by at least five points the rest of the way.
Devonte Hampton added 14 points for Alcorn State (6-11, 4-2 SWAC) and Octavius Brown had 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Alcorn State made more free throws (25 of 36) than Arkansas-Pine Bluff attempted (19 of 24).
Ghiavonni Robinson led UAPB (3-16, 1-4) with a career-high 33 points. Robinson, made five 3-pointers and hit 8 of 10 free-throw attempts. Marquis Cunningham added 15 points.
