Update: Multiple media outlets are reporting that the suspect Ryan Debord was found dead Wednesday.

Simpson County law enforcement is searching for a Brookhaven man as the possible perpetrator of an aggravated assault that took place last week on Neil Lambert Road in Jayess.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook Tuesday to assure the public there was no manhunt nor a shooting in Lawrence County. Ryan Debord also may be a person of interest in several burglaries that have plagued the county for the past year, the sheriff’s office wrote.

Law enforcement is on the lookout for Debord, and anyone with knowledge or information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office at 601-847-2921 or the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 601-587-2961.
